The scoring system

The team with the highest combined total score is the Overall Winner of the Impact League Detroit Winter 2024.

The team with the Purpose Project that receives the most votes on the final day will win funding for their project. This could involve expanding the project to serve more people, developing innovative methods to measure impact, or implementing new strategies to maximize the project's effectiveness. Your team has the option to adopt an existing Purpose Project from an organization and donate the prize money directly to support their cause.

More about the scoring system and how we play

What is a Purpose Project?

In the Impact League we use the Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) as our guiding principles for taking action and finding opportunities.

When you sign up, you’ll be asked to select one of the 17 Global Goals to play for. You will as a team use the season to develop a project around that Goal. If you're unsure which Goal to choose, you have the flexibility to change it later.

We encourage all teams to follow their passions

Whether it's planting a new forest, building a new bus stop, challenging friends to clean up a neighborhood, closing the pay gap at work, implementing menstrual cycle awareness initiatives, or promoting more sports in schools, the possibilities are endless. Find inspiration here.

“Our founding league, the DCFL, was built out with a community service requirement. We share the Impact League's commitment to community work, and we believe that soccer makes this possible by bringing people together and hopefully, making a difference in the world."
